What is a Greek Golden Visa?
The Golden Visa for Greece is one of the most popular investment visa programs in the EU. It is a residence-by-investment visa, issued to non-EU citizens who make a significant contribution to the Greek economy. There are several investment options, but the most common route is through purchasing real estate worth at least a quarter of a million.
Golden Visas issued by the EU Member States such as Greece are especially coveted, as they may eventually lead to citizenship and thus access to the EU.
The Greece Golden Visa offers immediate five-year residency to the investor as well as their immediate family members, as well as free travel in the Schengen Zone.

STAGE 1
Citizens outside the European Union who qualify for the Golden Visa program can apply for a residence permit through a power of attorney without having previously entered the country. The power of attorney is drawn up before the Greek Consular Authority. The applicant must, within 12 months from the issuance of the certificate of the application deposit, enter Greece and submit to the competent service the required biometric data.

1 Submission of the application in person by the investor (receipt of biometric data).
2 Submission by attorney (setting date for receipt of biometric data).
As long as the conditions of the Law are met, a 5 year residence permit is granted by the competent Authoritywithin two months from the receipt of the completed file.
After the application has been submitted, the applicant receives a receipt confirming the submission of the application, which is valid for one year. The holder of an application receipt, can travel freely from his origin country to Greece until its expiration. However, he is not allowed to travel to another country in the zone Schengen.
